An item reported that the French battleship Courbet (1) would replace the Diderot (2) as gunnery school at Toulon, France.

Part of Courbet-class preceded by Danton-class succeeded by Bretagne-class, ordered on 1 August 1911, laid down by Arsenal de Lorient, France on 1 September 1910, launched on 23 September 1911, completed on 8 October 1913, commissioned on 19 November 1913, stationary anti-aircraft battery and accommodation ship 1940-1941, target ship in 1943, sunk as breakwater off Normandy on 8 June 1944 and after the war broken up.
2. Part of Danton-class battleships preceded by Liberté-class succeeded by Corbet-class. laid down by Ateliers et Chantiers de la Loire, Saint-Nazaire on 20 October 1907, launched on 19 April 1909, completed on 1 August 1911, training ship since 1927, stricken in 1936 and sold to be broken up in 1937.
