Russian cargo ship (ex-Prinz Sigismund 1902-1917, General W.C. Corgas 1917-1945) Mikhail Lomonosov 1945-1958

Call sign UUOT. Launched as passenger ship by Akt. Gesel. Neptun, Rostock, Germany on 28 September 1902, delivered on 6 Juy 1903, laid up at Colon on 3 August 1914, seized by the USA in April 1917, added to the US Navy as General W.C. Corgas on 5 September 1917, USAT General W.C. Gorgas since 1941, handed over to Russia and renamed Mikhail Lomonosov and broken up in 1958. Gross tonnage 4,636 tons, under deck 3,602 tons, net tonnage 2,723 tons and as dimensions 370.1 x 45.3 x 26.8 x (23-24 (loaded) feet. Normal cruising speed 9 knots. Warning closely similar to the Japanese Yoshino Maru and Kowa Maru. As General W.C. Gorgas in 1939 call sign WQCZ, homeport San Francisco, USA, owners Libby, Mc.Neill&Libby.
