Norwegian whale factory ship N.T. Nielsen-Alonso was with success active in thw Ross Sea acccording to the Australian newspaper Sydney Mail dated Wednesday 7 March 1928

An item reported that the Norwegian 9.516 gross register tonnage whaler N.T. Nielsen-Alonso the week before at Port Jackson, Sydney, Australia returning for the Ross Sea expedition was bound for Lurvik, Norway. During her 4 months during hunting season she was very successful using all storage capacity with 57.000 barrels extracted from 760 whales with an estimated value of 266.000 pound sterling. Her master was Hans Andreen stated that he sighted such large numbers of whales in the Ross Sea that there was not to be feared for extinction.(1)

1. Whale factory ship, Norway-flagged, homeport Larvik, built by C. Connell&Co. Ltd., Glasgow, Scotland as the screw steam ship Custodian in 1900, renamed Polcevera in 1923 and renamed and converted into whale factory ship N.T. Nielsen-Alonso in 1926, torpedoed by the German submarine U-753 underway from the United Kingdom to the USA as part of convoy ON-166 and scuttled by the Polish destroyer ORP Burza on 22 February 1943. Tonnage 9,348 tons
