British proposal by Vice Admiral Sir Alexander Milne for an ironclad in 1867

Length over all 300 feet. Three masts, single funnel of which the base protected by armoured tubular columns. Gun deck fully armoured. Twin screw, 800 hp. Builders measurement 3,457 42/94 tons. Armament 16-600 pounder guns. Drawing made in 1867.(1)

1. Sir Alexander Milne (10 November 1806 Inveresk, Scotland-29 December 1896 Inveresk, Scotland), Admiral of the Fleet, served in the navy between 1817-1876. First Naval Lord in 1866-1868.
