Laid down by Marine Industries, Sorel, Quebec, Canada on 20 February 1956, launched on 11 May 1957, commissioned on 12 September 1957, served mainly as training ship, decommissioned on 19 December 1998, sold to be broken up in 1999, partly dismantled towed to California to be broken up which process was stopped while the scrap yard operated illegally, sunk in the Sacramento Delta, at the aged Herman and Helen’s Marina near Stockton in 2021. In July 2025 started removal and breaking up of what was left of her. Part of Bay-class minesweeper preceded by Algerine-class succeeded by Anticosti-class.
