Western Australian Goverment bought from the Commonwealth Government the merchant ship Delamare according to the Australia Station Intelligence Summary dated 8 June 1957

An item reported that the Western Australian Goverment bought for 151,000 pound sterling from the Commonwealth Government the 2,345 gross tonnage merchant ship Delamare. She was built at Whyalla in 1946. Another 200,00 pound sterling was needed for conversin from coal into oil-fuelled, auxiliary machinery from steam into electrical driven and modernizing the crew accommodation.
