In his letter No. 1317 dated Lisbon 26 September 1941 reported the German naval attaché in Portugal to the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine at Berlin that according to an Italian source in the afternoon of 23 September was the acceptance of a new coastal battery to be realized on the wooded sloops north of Pico de Enforcada of the the island Sao Miguel, Azores. The battery was to control the sector between Capellas and de harbour of Santa Elia. The transmission of further messages remains cautious.
