Tagus Company at Ponta Delgada, Azores ordered by British government to be able to fuel British warships in October 1941

In his letter No. 1363 dated Lisbon 3 October 1941 reported the German naval attaché in Portugal to the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine at Berlin referring to an Italian source from Ponta Delgada on 29 September the British government ordered the Tagus Company during October to keep the fuel pipelines warmed up in case fuel was demanded. On 1 October ordered the British government the same company to request immediately new quantities of American fuel oil.
