Greek cargo ship Paralos sunk after after striking a German mine on 6 December 1939

An item reported that the Greek 3,435 tons cargo ship ss Paralos loaded with German coal strike a German mine and sunk in the Approaches to the Thames 2 miles east of the Tongue light vessel. Of her crew were 22 men saved and brought to Southend.(1)

Note

1. Sunk on 6 Dcember 7 miles north east of North Foreland, Kent, England, 3 men were killed. Survivors saved by the British Roek.
