Part of Typ C. Identical I 46, I 47 and I 48 ordered as No. 376, 377 en 378 under the Maru Kyu Programme. Preceded by Junsen Type B and succeeded by Type D/Sen’yu-Dai Type. Boat No. 378. Laid down by Sasebo Naval Arsenal on 19 June 1943, launched on 12 December 1943, completed on 5 September 1944, converted into a mother ship for 4 Kaiten end 1944 and sunk by the American John C. Butler class destroyers escorts USS Corbesier and Conklin at Ulithi, Caroline Islands on 23 January 1945.
