French sloop Suippe beached after German air attack according to the War Cabinet Weekly Résumé No. 45 of the Naval, Military and Air Situation 4-12 July 1940

An item reported that the French sloop Suippe (1) was hit by a bomb and damaged during the German air attack on Falmouth, England and forced to be beached.

Note

1. Part of Scarpe-class, launched by Arsenal de Brest, France in April 1918, seized by British on 3 July 1940 at Falmouth, handed over to the Free French. Some sources on internet reporting sunk during a German air attack on Falmouth on 14 April 1941, salvaged but beyond repair and stricken on 15 June 1941.
