An item dated The Hague, Netherlands 27th reported that the Goeben hit a mine in the Bosphorus and was beyond all repairs damaged.(1)

Note

1. Part of the Moltke-class battle cruisers, built by Blohm&Voss, Hamburg, Germany between 12 August 1909-2 July 1912, transferred to the Ottoman Empire on 16 August 1914 and not earlier scrapped as between 1973-1976! She hit in fact two mines on 26 December 1914 but the temporarily repairs with concrete held for years.
