An item dated Washington 5 November reported that the American federal shipping authorities approved the sale of the next freighters owned by the shipping company Lykes (1) to England namely Quistoonck (5,144 tons), Jelse (4,994 tons), Liberty Bell (5,107 tons), West Skonk (5,430 tons) and the Oakman (6,081 tons).

The Quistconck was built in 1918 and became in British service in 1941 the Empire Falcon, the Oakman was of 1920 renamed Empire Impala, the Liberty Bell of 1920 renamed Empire Mahseer, the Jelse was not named on this site but a the Jolee of 1920 was renamed Empire Flamingo and the West Skonk must be the West Ekonk of 1918 renamed Empire Wildebeeste.
