British transport Aragon torpedoed and sunk according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingen dated 31 January 1918

According to British government tidings was on 30 December 1917 the transport Aragon torpedoed and sunk in the eastern part of the Mediterranean. When a British destroyer was picking up survivors she was also torpedoed and sunk. Of the men on board of the Aragon were four ships’ officers including her captain, fifteen sailors, ten army officers and 581 soldiers killed.
