Portuguese transport Zaire underway to Lourenco Marquez according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated Tuesday 8 October 1901

An item reported that last Saturday the transport Zaire left Lisbon towards Lourenco Marquez with on board 848 men of the infantry, cavalry and artillery to replace of rein former earlier military expeditions. The cavalry was to improve the guarding of the frontier with Transvaal.(1)
