An item reported that off Asteria, Oregon on board of the American torpedo boat Davis boiler tubes were exploded causing the death of four sailors while another three were wounded.(1)

With a displacement of 155 tons and as dimensions 45,11 x 4,67 x 1,78 metres or 148’x 15’4”z 5’10”. With a speed of 23 knots, a crew numbering 24 men was she armed with 3x1pd guns and 3-18”/45,7 cm torpedo tubes.
