Restoring the Spanish naval force according to the Dutch newspaper Vriessche courant dated 12 November 1807

According to a tiding Madrid 22 October intended the government to restore the Spanish navy. In all of the sea harbours and arsenal was done everything to compensate the heavy losses during the war sand which was expected to be realized within short time. Except for new building were the ships still capable for sea duties refitted.
