Austrian brig José lost according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 24 November 1858

A sea tiding dated Malta 6 November reported that the Austrian brig José captain Merle underway from Odessa towards England was lost off Cape Spartivento. Her crew was saved.
