The French navy and Colombian privateers in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 10 July 1827

Madrid, 28 June. From Gibraltar came tidings that the Colombian privateers were still active in the waters of Cadiz and in the Strait. Recently they captured two Spanish ships, destined from Algeciras towards Cadiz.
France, 12 July. From Cadiz came tidings dated 22 June that the frigate Belona (1), commanded by captain De Saint-Priest, departed with sealed orders, not earlier to be read before the sea was reached. The brig l’Euryale (2) left also.
