American whaler Osmanli visited Port Russell, New Zealand according to the New Zealand newspaper Daily Southern Cross dated 11 April 1874

An item reported the American whaler Osmanli lying in the port of Russell, New Zealand.(1)

1. Whalemen's Shipping List dated 8 April 1873 reported as homeport New Bedford, USA, of 292 tons, barque, master Williams, agents Charles . Randall, departure on 4 October 1871. Ship registers of New Bedford vol III 1866-1939. Built at Medford in 1844. Tonnage 292.29 tons and as dimensions; length 106 x 25,2 x 15.1 feet. Owners: Charles S. Randall 4/16, William J. Rotch 2/l6 , Simeon Doane 1/16, William J. Norton l/l6 , John A. Beckerman 2/l6, Swift&Porry, Trustees 2/16, Clara Morgan Rotch 1/16, all of New Bedford; William C. Peine 2/16 and F. Gordon Dexter l/l5 , both of Boston. Master James Williams.
