An item reported that the British destroyer HMS Hope (1) of the Acorn-class built by Swan and Hunter was launched completely fitted out on 6th September. Her machinery consisted of Parsons-turbines and 4 Yarrow fuel fired boilers. Three crews. Immediately after her launching was the keel laid down for the destroyer HMS Sandfly.

1.Part of Acorn-class destroyers, preceded by the Beagle-class and succeeded by the Acheron-class. Laid down by Swan Hunter&Wigram Richardson, Wallsend on 9 December 1909, launched on 6 September 1910, completed in March 1911 and sold to be broken up at Malta in February 1920.
2.Of the Acheron-class, preceded by the Acorn-class and succeeded by the Acasta-class, launched by Swan Hunter&Wigram Richardson, Wallsendon 9 July 1911 and sold on 9 May 1921.
