An item reported that the Italian ironclad battleship Sardegna (1) although for sale would be remained in service as long as her high power wireless telegraph was needed. She and the Sicilia (2) were to be disposed as soon as possible.

2. Part of Re Umberto-class ironclad battleships, preceded by Ruggiero de Lauria-class, succeeded by Ammiraglio di Saint Bon-class, laid down by Venetian Arsenal on 3 November 1884, launched on 6 June 1891, completed on 4 May 1895, stricken on 9 July 1914 and stricken in 1923.
