Spanish gunboat launched at Cartagena according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1911 No. 3

An item reported that the first Spanish 800 tons gunboat under the fleet reorganization plan in January at the Naval Arsenal at Cartagena was launched under supervision of the British firm Messrs. Vickers, Armstrong&Brown just like her sister ships were to be built. Her armament consisted of 4-7,6cm guns and 2 Maxim guns.(1)

1. Part of the Recalde-class, built under the law dated 7 January 1908 for colonial service, the first one was the Recalde launched on 31 December 1910 and condemned in 1931. Displacement 787 (normal)-811 (full load) tons and as dimensions 65.5 x 9.14 x 2.98 (maximum) metres. Propulsion consisted of 2 vertrical triple expansion steam engines and 2 Yarrow boilers supplying 1,200 hp allowing a maximum speed of 13.5 knots and an endurance of 3,000 nautical miles/10 knots and 160 ton coal bunker capacity. Crew numbered 30 men.
