German passenger-cargo ship Mosel 1926-1942 and Japanese Teizui Maru 1942-1945

Call sign DOFA since 1942 JGCR. Laid down by Deutsche Schiff- und Maschinebau A.G. (Deschimag) Weser werft, Bremen, Germany with yard number 8770 in end 1926 for account of the Norddeutscher Lloyd, launched in October 1927, delivered on 19 December 1927, confiscated by the German governement time chartered to the Japanese governement on 2 November 1942, renamed Teizui Maru, beached at Yoshimi harbour, Japan being damaged while striking a mine off Yawata, Japan on 18 April 1945 and finallu abandoned. Gross tonnage 8,428 tons, under deck 7,632 tons, net tonnage 5,280 tons, deadweight 12,900 tons and as dimensions 508.5 x 63.7 x 30.2 x 28 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating L.P. turbine propulsion with one screw a speed of 14 (normal cruising(016 (maximum) knots.
