Auction of a 1/32 share in the Dutch whaler De Vrouw Margaretha in 1755

Auction at the Nieuwezyds Heeren Loogement, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Amsterdam on Monday 16 June 1755 of 1/32 share in the Dutch whaler De Vrouw Margaretha, fluyt ship, commandeur Foppe Jacobsz Flieger (1), built in 1729, dimensions 118 30 1/11 x 12 6/11 x 6 10/11 (deck) feet, 6 boats, bound for Davis Strait, bookkeeper Jan Everhard Grave. Sold to Jan Bruyn Abrahams for 520 Dutch guilders.

1. Active as commandeur in Davis Strait whaling 1746-1759, 1761,1764-1776. Catch results in 1755 1 whale-38 barrels whale blubber-48 quardelen whale oil. As commandeur active in the Greenland whaling 1745, 1758, 1760 and 1762-1763. Alphabetische naam-lyst van alle de Groenlandsche en Straat-Davidsche Commandeurs die sedert het jaar 1700 op Groenland en sedert het jaar 1719 op de Straat Davis etc. Gerret van Sant.
