Japanese cargo ship (ex-Jonge Elisabeth 1928-1939) Tranninh 1939-1943

Built by P. Smit Jr., Machinefabriek&Scheepswerf N.V., Rotterdam, Netherlands with yard number 1928, completed in November 1928. Property of Cie. Côtière de l’Annam, Haiphong, French Indochina/Vietnam, later in Japanese service and sunk in a collision on 18 August 1943 when part of convoy 316 underway from Saigon to Mako. Call sign PFEK. Gross tonnage 1,463 tons, under deck 1,212 tons, under deck 786 tons, deadweight 2,500 tons and as dimensions 265.7 x 38.7 x 16.1 x 18 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single srew, 258 nhp, 508 tons coal bunker capapacity.
