Active-class scout cruisers, succeeded by Arethusa-class. Slightly improved preceding Blonde-class cruisers, main difference was the new 'plough now.’ The cruisers were to act with destroyer flotillas but were already quick obsolete due the increasing speeds of the destroyers. Building ordered under the 1910 Naval Programme, laid down at the Pembroke Royal Dockyard on 15 March 1911, launched on 4 December 1911, completed in March 1913 and sunk after striking a mine laid by the German auxiliary minelayer SMS Königin Luise on 6 August 1916.
