Japanese controlling Philippine waters according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 10 January 1942

An item reported that according to general MacArthur there were 60-80 Japanese ships moving northward past Manila Bay, Philippines 7-8 January. The Japanese had nothing to fear in the Philippine waters.
