British HMX Inflexible. The Illustrated London News dated 6 May1876

Preceded by HMS Dreadnought succeeded by Ajax-class, laid down at Portsmouth Dockyard on 24 February 1874, launched on 27 April 1876, commissioned on 5 July 1911 and broken up in 1903. Built as an answer on the Italian battleships Duilio and Dandolo which had a main armament of 4-45cm/17.7” guns. She was armed with 2x2-40,64cm/16” muzzle loading rifles.
