Part of Tiger-class preceed by Minotaur-class. Ordered under the 1942 Addition Naval Programme. Laid down by John Brown Shipyard, Clydebank, Scotland as Bellerophon on 1 October 1941, launched on 25 October 1945, building suspended and laid up in 1946, redesigned in 1948, accepted by the navy in March 1959, commissioned on 18 March 1959, reserve since 18 December 1966, converted into a helicopter and command cruiser between 1968-1972, decommissioned on 24 May 1979 sold to be broken up in 1986 which begun in Spain in October 1986.
